When I am creating, I focus on human emotion, often centered around the desire for freedom.
A few years ago, I transitioned out of a career in healthcare to pursue art fully. Since then I have explored ideas that embrace existentialism, spirituality, and self-reflection. I delve into different ideas using a combination of traditional and digital media, having explored media such as acrylic, ink and watercolor, marker art, and digital illustration/editing to bring my ideas to life. I strive to authentically and unapologetically express myself and the complexities of my own culture, which comprises of Black American and Nigerian roots. While I am still exploring the cultural identities for myself, my goal is to come to a deeper sense of understanding and acceptance of who I am as an artist with all of the layers that make up my own existence. In what ways do I limit myself, and how can I expand beyond my own boundaries?
